Chicago Tribune reports on Bankside, the City's first townhome community working towards LEED® certification

The Belgravia Group has begun pre-construction sales for Bankside, an eco-friendly development of 33 townhouses and four single-family residences to be built along the Chicago River in the Lakeview neighborhood.
Ranging from 2,300 to 3,400 square feet, the six townhouse floor plans have three or four bedrooms and 2½ to four baths. They are priced from $575,000 to more than $900,000. The 4,250-square-foot single-family residences, priced from $1.2 million, offer five bedrooms and four baths.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2009, with initial deliveries in the fall.
Bankside will include a riverfront pathway that will eventually link to new and existing portions of the river walk as it expands.
The 1.8-acre development will be built near the intersection of Oakley and Oakdale streets on the northeast side of the Chicago River.
